African Drumming and Dance

First graders accompany our Kwanzaa celebration with African drumming and dance.

Installation Art

An installation piece on the southeast lawn of NCCS (between the Stevens Building and the Winter Club) contributed to by each seventh and eighth grade student was completed and enjoyed during the month of December. Black umbrellas were designed with white positive/negative optical patterns inspired by geometrical Japanese art. All students participated in the installation of their work. After nominating titles, students voted to name the piece "Umbrellalicious." The community enjoyed the work as well. Cars stopped. People took pictures, and telephone calls were received!
